Hand-colored quarter-plate stereoscopic daguerreotype of Eliza Maria Kerrison Holmes (d. 1770), mother of Georgine Holmes Thomas (1848-1940). Includes two images on one plate in one leather Mascher case with two stereoscope lenses attached. The photographs were taken by Jeremiah Gurney of New York, N.Y. ca. 1858.

2 photographs : daguerreotypes, b&w, hand-colored ; visible oval images 6 x 3 1/2 cm. (quarter-plate), in case 9 1/2 x 12 cm.
